The Grabby Glove set includes a pair of mittens with Velcro attached to them. If an infant touches the included toys, the Velcro will stick to them, enabling the child to haptically and visually explore their environment even before he or she is able to successfully grasp an object. Research done using similar mittens, developed by Amy Needham at Duke University, suggests that this experience enhances infants' perceptual and motor development. In addition to eliciting a lot of baby smiles, there is evidence that this helps infants learn to grasp objects better, even without the mittens.
Each Grabby Gloves set includes one pair of mittens and three plush toys, equipped for Grabby Glove interaction. The gloves are constructed from stretchy, durable spandex. They go onto the infants' hands easily and stay put during active play sessions. The toys are made with bright, colorful, high-contrast fabrics that kids love.
